Summer 2008

A Bit of an Explanation

Since the premise of this blog is to show you Suffolk (and my life) through pictures, it seems a little counter-intuitive to have the first entry be full of words, but I wanted to make sure this blog gets a fair explanation of what it will be, and that there is at least a little bit about who I am and what I do.

First, the blog explanation. I love my camera. I bought it for the trip I took to Prague through Suffolk at the end of my freshman year, and we've been inseperable ever since. I take pictures of everything. My friends fondly describe me as "the girl who needs to document every moment of her life". I assure them they will be happy to have these memories captured when we're old. In part, this blog will give me an excuse to take pictures. More importantly, this blog will give you a chance to see Suffolk. I can give you a tour and take you to the buildings and talk about class size, but I can't show you what it's like to be on Mock Trial or see Fall Fest or live on Beacon Hill. With these pictures, I hope I can give you those experiences.

Second, as a reader, you might want to learn a little more about me. I respect that. Who am I to give you this view of Suffolk? I'm a Junior at Suffolk with an English major and a Spanish minor. I'm originally from right outside the Chicago. I keep myself pretty busy as I manage to be Vice President of the Suffolk Undergraduate Mock Trial Team, a member of the Suffolk Cheerleading Squad, and an InterFuture scholar, aside from my work in Admissions. I love black and white movies, the theatre, a good shopping trip, and cooking for my roommate. The pictures I take will hopefully give you a sense of what it is like to be a student at Suffolk.

As a disclaimer, this is Suffolk University through my eyes. The images you get from anyone else would be completely different. All I can offer you is how I see life at Suffolk, but I hope you'll enjoy your glance at Suffolk.
